Nursing : To succeed, be kind.
Research has proven that delivering healthcare with kindness and compassion leads to faster healing, reduces pain and leads to shorter hospital stays.
For example, the more compassionate care patients receive, the lower their diastolic blood pressure becomes during periods of stress. When patients experience empathy at emergency rooms for instance, they are less likely to return to the emergency for the same issue.
Nurses are caregivers and they have to practice kindness. Not only kindness benefit patients but it also benefits caregivers and health care organisations. A kinder work environment makes caregivers feel more engaged, less exhausted and have more satisfied patients. It also leads to increased resilience to stress and reduces burnouts.
Keeping kindness and a compassionate attitude at the core of the health care practice is as important as having solid theoritical and clinical skills in the Nursing field.
Tourism : To succeed, focus on the customer
Research shows that it costs five times as much to attract a new customer as it does to retain an existing customer. Exceptional service is the best way to retain customers.
It’s in the little things. It’s in the details. Quality is of uttermost importance.
Remember that the customer is king. Every interaction that you have with a customer is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the customer. We need to deliver an experience, not a product.
Attitude is everything.
