The Diploma in Climate Change & Renewable Technologies is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to contribute effectively to this global transition.
Students will gain a strong foundation in climate science, understand the principles of energy efficiency, and develop hands-on expertise in key renewable energy technologies, with a particular focus on solar power. The programme also covers climate adaptation strategies, policy frameworks, and sustainable development practices, preparing graduates to address environmental challenges in a holistic way.
With Mauritius committed to achieving 60% renewable energy by 2030 under its Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy, graduates will be ready to take on critical roles in renewable energy projects, climate change mitigation initiatives, and sustainable development efforts at local, regional, and international levels.
Any 5 credits in 1 or two sittings or any other equivalent qualifications acceptable to the academic board.
Candidates must have 16 years old at the start of the course
Upon the completion of the Diploma in Climate Change and Renewable Technologies, the student will be eligible to pursue higher academic qualifications in this respective field, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Climate Change, or Sustainable Development, or even a top-up degree in these fields where the requirements are met within the Diploma in Climate Change and Renewable Technologies course.
The cost of the course will vary according to the mode of delivery (full time/part time) you will opt. Should you wish to sit for an examination, additional fees will be applicable depending on the examination centre.
Application Fee: Rs 1,000 (one-off, Non refundable)
Admin Fee: Rs 8000 (Annually Payable at the Start of the Academic year)
Exam Fee: Rs 800 (per module)

If you have not completed any recognised Diploma or Degree before, then you will definitely enjoy the privilege under the Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES) for the whole duration of the course, offered by the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research. This applies only to local students pursuing their studies on Full Time basis. Only Application and Administration fee will be applicable.
