In line with Government vision of developing a society of entrepreneurs, trainees will become knowledgeable in how to carry out a feasibility study and draw up a Business Plan in order to setup their own business in Hydroponics, Aquaponics and Aquaculture sectors.

Duration in Time

The programme is covered over 3.5 months, with a total of 5 weeks in-class facilitation and 2 months of working placement. There will be a total of 150 hours of in class facilitation and 240 hours of on-the-field placement practical training.

Objective/ career prospect

The objective of this programme is to embark on a very precise technical and professional training programme based on smart technology in order for Mauritius to achieve its Food Security mission.Food insecurity occurs whenever a country lacks predictable access to foods in sufficient quantity and quality to maintain an active and healthy population. The concept rests on three pillars: availability, access, and utilization. This programme long term objectives aim in meeting these three main pillars.

  • To become knowledgeable in how to carry out a feasibility study and draw up a Business Plan which is a requirement for setting up own businesses.
