The Diploma in Aquaculture with Entrepreneurship addresses some key elements such as exploration, improvement and design aspect for all freshwater and marine food resources. In addition, this programme also integrates the business aspects of aquaculture that will enable the graduates to venture into entrepreneurship.

Aquaculture is one of the emerging sectors in Mauritius. According to the Aquaculture Master Plan of the Ministry of Blue Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Shipping, there are around 21 sites for aquaculture development. There is a potential for an annual production of 29,000 tonnes of fish in the medium term and may grow to 39,000 tonnes in the coming years that will be mostly from fish farming at sea. This programme will be taught in 4 semesters (2 years) will cover all aspects related to aquaculture such as aquatic health and diseases that is critical to the well being of the fishes. Moreover, the programme include a large part of internship in industry.
SC with at least 3 credits (inclusive of Mathematics and 1 Science subject), in up to two sittings.

If you have not completed any recognised Diploma or Degree before, then you will definitely enjoy the privilege under the Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES) for the whole duration of course, offered by the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology. Only Application and Administration fee will be applicable.
