The Diploma in Engineering Technology (Precision Engineering) whose purpose is to prepare a student in 5 semesters to work as a precision engineering technician, while offering an opportunity to continue his/her education according to a personal and professional development plan.

Precision engineering is a specialist branch of mechanical engineering which involves the design and manufacture of complex products, machines, tools and instruments, whose parts must be precisely correct in size and shape, have exceptionally tight tolerances and be produced repeatedly to exact specifications.

The Diploma in Engineering Technology (Precision Engineering) will make use of advancing technologies to create even smaller, more precise components, and manufacturing of innovative devices and systems.

3  Credits at SC Level including:

A relevant Science subject Grade 1–6. (including Maths &/or Add Maths)

Notes:

Candidates may have obtained a total of 3 credits in not more than two sittings;

Students having a Pass in English may be required to cover the English Foundation course offered by PML.

  • Design and manufacture of parts requiring precision engineering skills that are sought in very diverse fields: Microelectronics, Biomedical, Mould design, Computer and communication technology, robotics, 3-D printing, aeronautics and space engineering etc.

Fees

The cost of the course will vary according to the mode of delivery (full time/part time) you will opt. We are one of the institutions offering the same course at a very affordable price that suit your budget. Should you wish to sit for an examination, additional fees will be applicable depending on the examination centre.

Application Fee: Rs 1,000

Admin Fee: Rs 6,500

If you have not completed any recognised Diploma or Degree before, then you will definitely enjoy the privilege under the Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES) for the whole duration of course, offered by the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology. Only Application and Administration fee will be applicable.
