The program of study aims to facilitate trainees’ personal and professional growth in wound care management by enhancing their ability to think critically, to deal with complex situations, to become experienced in utilizing human and material resources, and to utilize evidence-based research findings to support their clinical reasoning.

The Diploma in Wound Care Management (DWCM) is designed to strengthen nurses’ abilities to apply evidence-based knowledge, promote the sharing of research findings, and develop crucial knowledge and skills. Upon completion of the program, nurses will be equipped to deliver the highest quality of nursing care, particularly in wound care management, to meet patient’s needs. Nurses enrolled in DWCM are expected to exhibit “exemplary practice”, which involves delivering high quality care, accountability, autonomy, and inter-professional collaboration. Autonomy, in this context, encompasses both clinical and organizational independence, granting nurses the ability to exercise judgement within their professional role in accordance with the legal and social freedoms of the nursing discipline.

Upon successful completion of the Diploma in Wound Care Management, the trainee will be able to:

  1. Assess and categorize different types of wounds, including acute and chronic wounds.
  2. Develop evidence-based wound care plans that include appropriate interventions and dressing techniques
  3. Apply knowledge of wound healing processes, anatomy, and physiology to clinical practice.
  4. Manage wound care in complex clinical cases, including infection control, debridement, and use of advanced wound therapies.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide holistic care for patients with wounds.
  6. Evaluate wound care outcomes and modify care plans accordingly.
  7. Utilize critical thinking skills to improve health outcomes of patients having any particular wound.
  8. Provide health education and counseling to patients having any particular wound.

The cost of the course will vary according to the mode of delivery (full time/part time) you will opt. We are one of the institutions offering the same course at a very affordable price that suit your budget. Should you wish to sit for an examination, additional fees will be applicable depending on the examination centre.

Application Fee: Rs 1,000

Admin Fee: Rs 6,500

If you have not completed any recognised Diploma or Degree before, then you will definitely enjoy the privilege under the Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES) for the whole duration of course, offered by the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology. Only Application and Administration fee will be applicable.
