Qualification

  • A first degree in Italian Language from a recognised and accredited institution.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in teaching Italian Language.
  • Experience in teaching Italian Language in a tertiary environment would constitute an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Be proactive and able to work under pressure.
  • Possess superior management, presentation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate commitment and passion for the field.
  • Must be computer oriented.

Duties

During your term of office, you will report to the Programme Leader (or his designated person) for the performance of the following duties:

  1. Report to the Programme Leader.
  2. Understand and promote the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Intent of PML among students while teaching.
  3. Implement and practice with students the PML 4P’s learning methodology.
  4. Adopt, promote and use English and French as the means of communication among students in and out of the classroom.
  5. Prepare Module Plans two weeks prior to class delivery for each assigned module, outlining all key dates for class activities.
  6. Facilitate lectures, conduct tutorials, design syllabi, prepare lesson notes, assignments, and other teaching materials while bridging theory to practice.
  7. Set class assignments and tests, prepare examination papers, mark scripts, and input marks into the Student Information System.
  8. Participate in Academic Committees and Examination Boards.
  9. Liaise with industry stakeholders for student placements.
  10. Organize two industry visits for students per trimester.
  11. Invite industry experts or guest speakers during class delivery each trimester.
  12. Maintain a dynamic classroom environment using theory, videos, group discussions, debates, presentations, games, quizzes, and other modern teaching methods.
  13. Adopt creative learning methodologies and promote simulation-based learning to expose students to real-life scenarios.
  14. Practice the Flipped Classroom learning methodology.
  15. Contribute to student evaluation through the Professional Conduct Evaluation System.
  16. Attend training on Classe 365.
  17. Regularly update the Learning Management System (Classe 365) by uploading course materials, grades (continuous assessment, practical, internship, and final examination), and general information.
  18. Use Classe 365 to communicate with students and the administration.
  19. Take attendance on Classe 365 before the start of every class throughout the semester.
  20. Coordinate with academic partners, receive training, and maintain quality assurance for academic partner programmes and related activities.
  21. Promote and participate in the organization of programmes, events, and activities that showcase PML’s active involvement in the community.
  22. Participate in and support PolyCAS and PolyCORE sessions whenever required.
  23. Prepare examination and assessment materials, and conduct marking and correction of students’ work.
  24. Perform any other related duties as assigned by Management.

Notes

  1. As a Part-Time Lecturer, you will have a primary interest in the overall training function and should devote your full attention to the students.
  2. Your services as a Part-Time Lecturer may be allocated by the Programme Leader to any specific field within your area of competence to provide a high level of service to students as required.
