CAPSTONE

Where Knowledge Meets Application, Transforming Ideas Into Reality

Doing is better than knowing. At Polytechnics Mauritius, we aim to create “thinking-doers”. This thought lies at the very epicenter of our being.

Students complete their cycle of study not with a dissertation but with a capstone project. These projects, supported by industry, are key to our educational approach. Whether it’s an afternoon class project or a semester’s final submission, each project is a prototype in becoming.

The capstone project, which carries 10-12 credits, marks the end of a Diploma or Degree cycle. It is crucial to learner achievement and credential rating. Recent notable projects include promoting second-hand clothing businesses, winning the Edu Quest with a mechanical robot arm at NPCC INNOVED 2023, and developing applications for elderly people.

Capstone projects contribute to the GPA and, more importantly, serve as a passport to a career, not just a job.
